Home Drone

You know that awkward feeling when you’ve left home and suddenly have that moment of doubt when you wonder if you remembered to turn off the stove or lock the door? Well, technology to the rescue! Instead of making the trip back home, possibly for nothing, soon you’ll be able to check on the inside of your home…with a security camera-enabled flying drone.

“The Ring Always Home Cam” actually flies around the INSIDE of your home and allows you to see what’s happening there in real-time. It flies predetermined paths set by the user, meaning you’re not stuck with the one view you set the camera to before leaving home. It can also be used with an alarm accessory to fly “appropriate paths” to check for disturbances when a sensor is triggered.

Jamie Siminoff, Ring’s founder and “chief inventor,” says the idea behind the Always Home Cam is to provide multiple viewpoints throughout the home without requiring the use of multiple cameras. In an interview ahead of the announcement, he said the company has spent the past two years on focused development of the device, and that it is an “obvious product that is very hard to build.” Thanks to advancements in drone technology, the company is able to make a product like this and have it work as desired.Jamie Siminoff, Ring’s founder and “chief inventor,” says the idea behind the Always Home Cam is to provide multiple viewpoints throughout the home without requiring the use of multiple cameras. The Ring Always Home Cam will sell for US $250 when it becomes available next year.
