Credit Consultant (Consumer Underwriting)-Call Center-Latham

Our Call Center in Latham, is looking for a new team member. The primary purpose of this position is to interviews loan applicants to inform members of current rates, policy requirements, and the lending services offered by the credit union.  Receives and underwrites loan applications.  Reviews, evaluates, and renders decisions on loans.  Ensures that all loan applications are thoroughly reviewed, including credit bureau reports, with the intent of maximizing approval options, including cross-sell opportunities. Communicate decision to branch personnel or member.    

Call Center Business Hours: (Must have availability to work within the hours listed)

Monday, Tuesday 8-5pm, Wednesday 8/9:30-5pm, Thursday & Friday 8-6pm, Saturday 9-1pm.

Facilities Specialist (Maintenance/Property Management)

Sunmark’s Facilities team is GROWING!!!

This position is located at our Administration Building, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road in Latham. Must have a valid NYS Drivers License.

The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as a resident expert to others and independently perform maintenance and system activities (ex: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc) to maintain branches, grounds and utilities in operational status.

  • Monitors and maintains HVAC systems.  Performs electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, fuses, minor appliances) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.  Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, etc.) to provide operable and efficient plumbing capabilities to the branches.  Performs  painting and carpentry work
  • Schedules and oversees the completion of work from independent vendors as needed, e.g. heating/air conditioning, cleaning, snow removal, landscaping, garbage removal etc. to ensure scheduled duties are completed.   
  • Assists in performing scheduled and “as needed” inspections, preventive maintenance, and safety related tasks (e.g. fire extinguishers, lighting, sidewalks are clear from snow, ice, debris, etc.)
  • Monitors safety related issues.  Maintains onsite/offsite storage facilities.  Coordinates and assists in any necessary physical moves (i.e. cubicles, desks, equipment) of departmental operations.
  • Prepares and retains adequate records of maintenance repairs.
  • Performs courier-related functions, when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma/GED or higher plus experience in construction/building maintenance. Broad understanding of how systems work/flow together from beginning to end as well as safety codes and security; familiarity with construction projects. Computer proficiency with strong communication skills. Ability to follow safety standards and ask detailed questions to understand problems, make recommendations and resolve issues.

FT Member Service (Teller)

Our  Clifton Park, Glenville, upcoming Guilderland branch and (5 Corners) branch in Schenectady  are looking for new team members. The primary purpose of this position is to provide WOW service while accurately processing transactions daily and researching member questions as needed. Member Service staff cross-sell all credit union services to qualified members whenever possible while attaining established goals.

Branch hours: Must have flexibility to work Monday-Friday, rotating Saturdays with option for time off during the week. Actual shift may vary based on branch opening/closing/balancing needs.

Human Resources Specialist

The primary function of this position is to provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department. Assists the Talent Acquisition Specialist with the recruitment and onboarding process. Prepares all separation paperwork for exiting employees. Updates Organizational Chart and HR Movement Report. Assists the HRIS/Benefits Manager with employee leave of absences process. Maintains system for employee badges. Maintains employee electronic personnel files through the Docuware system. Sends monthly notification to managers regarding pending performance evaluations and other duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a college degree plus 2+ years experience within the business field, preferably within Human Resources. Strong attention to detail, communicates effectively and works well within a fast paced work environment. Strong computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, prior HRIS experience is preferred. IT Infrastructure Administrator-Level II

​​​​​​The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the daily operational responsibilities related to Sunmark Credit Union’s Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. This includes the administration of our IT Infrastructure equipment including but not limited to switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, data circuits, disaster recovery networks, servers (virtual and physical), storage systems and UPS. Manages and maintains Sunmark’s Data Centers and Co-Location facilities.  Maintains a working knowledge of all IT department functions and plays an active role in the support of the IT Department’s overall progress and related projects.

 The ideal candidate will have a college degree plus 3+ years of IT career experience with maintenance of Firewalls, Routers, Ethernet switches, VMware, Storage Area Networks, and Microsoft Windows Operating System for servers. SD-WAN experience a plus but not required.  Five years or more of experience may be considered in lieu of an Associates degree. Ability to work well under pressure and part of a team. Excellent ability to communicate and problem solving. Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule including on-call hours, as necessary. Cisco CCT, CCNA or equivalent certification/training preferred but not required. Some basic scripting experience and/or basic PowerShell experience is a plus.

Loan Servicing Representative

Sunmark is looking for a new team member to join our Loan Servicing team in Latham.

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30pm

Provides guidance and assistance to staff pertaining to all loan products and procedures. Answers member questions related to general lending procedures either by telephone, in person or by correspondence.  Assists members with questions regarding loan payments, processes payments and loan advances. Reviews and processes requests for our third party portfolios to ensure members needs and concerns are addressed.  This includes Credit Cards, Leases, Mortgages and Student Loans. Processes requests for 2nd draws and Subordination Agreements.  Review Student Loans to make loan decisions based on the Credit Union’s criteria and follow up with applicants to become members. Processes corrections requested by the Quality Review Department to comply with regulations and lending policy. Transfer loans to new membership accounts per member requests.  Maintains and updates loan files; Reviews and processes rate adjustments when necessary. Maintains and updates the electronic lien filing system (FDI) and the filing of UCC1’s to ensure we have the proper collateral for our loan portfolio. Completes necessary Leasing and Student Loan tracking logs needed. Scans miscellaneous documentation to True Image.

Member Relationship Advisor (Capital Region branches)

Sunmark is GROWING!!! We are hiring one person for Glenville and 2 more staff to initially start out as floating within our Capital District Branch locations and will transition into a more permanent location upon future openings.

The primary responsibility for this position is to assist members by providing product and advisory information.  Researches and solves member questions in person or refers members to the appropriate staff specialists. Member Service-Call Center-Latham

Our Call Center, located in our Administrative Offices, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham, is looking for a new team member.

Business Hours: (Must have availability to work within the hours listed) If an employee is scheduled for a Saturday, a half or full day will be given during the week to meet the 40 hour work week schedule.

Monday-Wednesday 8-5pm, Thursday & Friday 8-6pm, Saturday 9-1pm.

The primary purpose of this position is to efficiently provide member access and information about all credit union services while responding to questions, concerns, and complaints in a blended contact center environment, consisting of phones, interactive video and eBusiness interactions.  Accurately processes daily transactions, loan payments, cash advances, insurance and credit card payments.  Conducts consumer loan closings, secures required papers, explains all legal documents, and reviews documentation for accuracy. Attains established group and individual key sales results on products and services as assigned on a monthly basis.

Mortgage Originator (Outside Sales)

Sunmark’s Mortgage Department is GROWING!

We offer Fixed Rate, ARMs, SONYMA, FHA, VA/USDA, Construction and end loans, 203k etc.

The primary responsibility of this position is to develop relationships with outside leads of the credit union to increase mortgage purchase and refinance applications. 

Candidates must have willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends and able to travel to all branches and outside mortgage locations when needed. Reliable transportation including a valid NYS Driver’s License.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements: Prior mortgage experience with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales goals. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook. This position requires excellent communication and time management skills. 

For a specific duration, while ramping up mortgage volume, staff would receive bi-weekly compensation plus any commissions earned.   Upon completion of that time, the compensation plan will change to commission minus a bi-weekly draw.  Commission will be paid on all leads however the main focus is on self-generated leads. Eligible for annual loan volume bonus based on the calendar year.

Mortgage Processor

Sunmark’s Mortgage Processing team is GROWING!!!

This position is located at our Administration Building, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road in Latham.

Typical hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 – 4:30 pm. Some evening and weekend hours as needed. The mortgage department is flexible with the shift but MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hours.

  • Prepares and issues Initial Closing Disclosures and all revised closing disclosures. Responsible for running UCD data file for agencies.
  • Assigns Settlement Agent once a file is cleared to close. Prepares and sends cleared to close packages to the settlement agents including any ‘At Closing’ conditions. Follows up with settlements agents to ensure closings are scheduled within 24-48 of receipt.
  • Sends out the closing invitation to the Mortgage list and Disbursal report to the Accounting list with the closing date, time, and loan amount. Verifies notation for government insured loans, lender credits, grants, or subordinate financing listed on Disbursal report. For Construction to Permanent loans, sets up mortgage loans on GUI spectrum, completes disbursal and initial advance of construction funding, if applicable.
  • Reviews the Final Closing Disclosure for errors and omissions. Reports the errors or omissions to the closing agent so the appropriate corrections can be made prior to the closing.
  •  Completes the HMDA report for every mortgage loan submitted as part of the process of preparing the loan for submission to the investor for final sale. Also completes the HMDA report for all withdrawn, cancelled, or declined files. Uploads HMDA-LAR quarterly.
  •  Prepares and submits files for Government Insurance including FHA, VA and USDA.
  •  Sends check breakdown sheet from the settlement agent to the Accounting Department with the Closing Disclosure.
  •  Registers closed loans on the MERS system within 7 days from the note date.
  •  Reconciles monthly points and upfront MI for year-end statements.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, prior mortgage processing/lending experience, strong computer proficiency, organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Mortgage Quality Control Coordinator

Sunmark is looking for a new team member to join our Quality Control team in Latham.

The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform post close quality control reviews of residential and commercial mortgage loans. This position will manage appraisal and title processing/performance and assist in the remediation of deficiencies identified in the prefunding quality review process.
