Member Relationship Representative - Mohegan Lake

Full Time - Mohegan Lake, NY

We are hiring Member Service staff for our Mohegan Lake, NY financial center, located at 3563 Mohegan Ave. Must be able to travel to our Latham, NY office (3 days) as part of the new hire training.

Starting pay, $23-24/hr based on experience

The primary purpose of this position is to provide legendary service to members by welcoming them to the financial center while providing information regarding our credit union services. Acts as a member liaison, supporting member convenience with all credit union technology available. Supports member transactions through use of Interactive Teller Machines. Accurately processes transactions as required. Receives loan payments, processes cash advances and transfers, redeems bonds and processes insurance payments. Processes transfers and credit card payments. Performs vault management inclusive of verifying cash shipment under dual control, balancing, settlement and cash management of the financial center. Serves members by providing product and advisory information. Researches and solves member questions, problems, and complaints. Assist Management in maintaining our culture while achieving department sales goals. This includes, but is not limited to onboarding initiatives, outbound calls, attendance at community events and site visits to Community Business Partners. Conducts consumer account openings, secures required identification, explains all legal documents, and reviews documentation for accuracy.

Candidates should have a high school graduate/equivalent or higher with prior cash handling and customer service experience. Ability to meet sales goals, strong attention to detail and communicate effectively. Computer proficiency within Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Assistant Financial Center Manager - Schenectady

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Manager in ensuring that the member service line is run in an efficient and productive manner, while maintaining compliance with overall credit union policies and procedures. Promotes and participates in a sales and service culture consistent with the credit union’s mission of exceeding member expectations. Serves as a leader and role model to member service staff, effectively creating a high quality work environment where they are motivated to perform at their highest levels. Provides leadership and enhances, develops, implements, and/or enforces policies and procedures that improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the branch.

Candidates should have a high school diploma/equivalent or higher plus prior experience in a financial institution. Supervisory experience and exposure to the Teller function to become familiar with routine policies, procedures and terminology is preferred.

Member Resolution Specialist

Our Member Resolution (Collections) team is hiring at our Latham office, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8-4:30pm.

The primary function of this position is to oversee the delinquent loan accounts, credit card accounts and fraudulent share accounts of the credit union, to take action for ensuring prompt collection of past due moneys. Utilizes various means of contact such as telephone, letters, and notices to communicate with delinquent loan members. Documents all actions taken, such as member contact and alternative payment arrangements in the appropriate records of the credit union. Meets with members to discuss problems with delinquent accounts and to determine appropriate action to bring the account current. Composes effective collection letters to send to members with delinquent loans and performs skip-tracing activities on certain members. Utilizes methods of collection under the terms of the loan contract such as extension agreements, repossession of collateral and foreclosure action when other methods fail. Handles all levy and restraining notices and informs member of such action. Reviews credit union records and transactions to resolve misapplied payments and research account transactions to assure proper credit. Handles all deceased members’ accounts. Receives paperwork pertaining to deceased members’ accounts and reviews paperwork for final resolution regarding distribution of funds, loans, etc. Processes disability claims. Processes bankruptcy notices, accounts. Orders and processes repossessions.

Candidates should have a High School diploma/equivalent or higher plus a minimum of two years of experience with credit analysis, loan interviewing or collections. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Computer proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

Regional Member Relationship Representative II

Candidates should have a high school graduate/equivalent or higher with a minimum of one year sales/customer service experience. Prior banking experience preferred. Ability to meet sales goals, strong attention to detail and communicate effectively. Computer proficiency within Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Overdraft Privilege Advisor

Sunmark is hiring an Overdraft Privilege Advisor to join our Call Center. This position is located within our Latham office, 1187 Troy Schenectady Road.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8-5pm. Occasional evenings and Saturday’s as needed.

Starting Pay: $21-22/hr based on experience.

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Overdraft Privilege Team Lead to review and manage accounts and relationships that go into overdraft within established overdraft limits. Collect outstanding overdraft amounts within specific time frames and specific amounts and will manage the placement of accounts into and removal from the overdraft privilege program within company guidelines. Educate members in ways to manage their account effectively, advises members of credit union programs available to improve their financial position.

Candidates should have a high school diploma/GED equivalent or higher plus a minimum of 1year financial experience. Prior Teller/customer service experience preferred. Ability to work independently, adapts to a changing environment, computer proficiency and strong attention to detail.
