Why is this merger good for me?
The merger will provide several key benefits, such as convenient access to new competitive products, services and opportunities. We also offer state-of-the-art technology and a comprehensive suite of online and mobile banking tools. Sunmark has the same member service philosophy as Hudson River Financial Credit Union so members will be treated with the same quality experience. We currently offer seventeen convenient branch locations across the area with access to 30,000 surcharge-free CO-OP ATMs nationwide.
Will the Hudson River Financial Credit Union branch remain open?
Yes! The current Hudson River Financial Credit Union branch will remain open with the same familiar employees that will continue serving you. You will also see some new Sunmark faces! When will my Hudson River Financial Credit Union account officially become a Sunmark account?
On March 1, 2021, your Hudson River Financial Credit Union account will officially become a Sunmark account.
Will my account number change?
Yes, all Hudson River Financial Credit Union members will be receiving new account numbers. All members will be receiving a packet in February that will include a new account number and information regarding important actions.
Will the rates on my Hudson River Financial Credit Union accounts change?
Yes, savings and checking rates will reflect Sunmark’s prevailing regional rates as of March 1, 2021.
What online and mobile services does Sunmark have?
Sunmark offers real-time online banking; mobile banking with free remote check deposit; text and email alerts; online BillPay; and eStatements. Interested members can sign up easily by calling 866-SUNMARK or stopping by any branch on or after Monday, March 1, 2021. More information to come in February's packet.
Will I continue to receive statements?
Members will receive paper statements on the same schedule as they have been receiving them through February 2021. Beginning with the March 2021 statement, all members will begin receiving their statements through Sunmark. To sign up for eStatements, or to receive copies of any statements, please call 866-SUNMARK on or after March 1, 2021.
Will I still receive tax documents?
If applicable, you will receive a 1099 and/or 1098 Form from Hudson River Financial Credit Union for the 2020 tax reporting year. These statements will be mailed to you in January 2021. If dividends received/interest paid are less than the reporting threshold, no tax statement will be issued.
Will I have access to ATMs?
Sunmark has a number of ATMs and myTMs (Interactive Teller Machines) throughout the area. In addition, Sunmark participates in the CO-OP Shared Branching Network, which boasts nearly 30,000 ATMs across the country that you can access as if visiting a Sunmark ATM. Will I need to update my direct deposit?
Yes. Beginning Monday, March 1, 2021, you will need to update your direct deposit with your new account information.
Will I need to update my Bill Pay?
No. Any payments you have scheduled through Hudson River Financial Bill Pay will automatically carry over to Sunmark’s Bill Pay system beginning Monday, March 1, 2021.
Can I still use my Hudson River Financial Credit Union checks?
You can still use your Hudson River Financial Credit Union checks through February 26, 2021. Beginning Saturday, February 27, 2021, you will need to begin using Sunmark checks. Starter checks will be provided to you free of charge before Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Can I still use my Hudson River Financial Credit Union debit card?
You can still use your Hudson River Financial Credit Union VISA® debit card through February 26, 2021. Beginning March 1, 2021, you will need to begin using your Sunmark Mastercard® debit card as your Hudson River Financial debit card will not work. Your new debit card will be provided to you free of charge before Sunday, February 28, 2021. Please note you will not be able to use your Hudson River Financial or Sunmark debit card on either Saturday, February 27 or Sunday, February 28, 2021. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I have a loan with Hudson River Financial Credit Union. Will anything change?
For most loans, your payment, rate and terms will remain the same. Members can continue making payments just as you do now. Mortgage holders will receive more information regarding their loan transfer before Sunday, February 28, 2021.
What if I already have a Sunmark account?
If you already have a Sunmark account prior to Monday, March 1, 2021, your Hudson River Financial Credit Union account number will convert into a brand new, separate Sunmark account number. If you would like to combine your multiple Sunmark accounts beginning Monday, March 1, 2021, please call 866-SUNMARK or visit any of our branches.
Can I open a Sunmark account prior to March 1, 2021?
Absolutely! You can apply by calling 866-SUNMARK during normal business hours, online anytime by clicking here, or by visiting any branch.
