Sunmark Shines a Spotlight on Local Nonprofits in 2026

12/4/25

Sunmark Credit Union is proud to announce its calendar for 2026 has been released with a new theme focused on highlighting nonprofits located in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley areas. Titled “Sunmark Spotlights,” the calendar features 12 of Sunmark’s nonprofit partners located within their 14-county charter area.

The Sunmark Credit Union calendar originated in 2014 as a photography contest for individuals to capture and submit photos that showcased New York state landmarks, locations, and scenic views. The contest drew hundreds of submissions each year, with thirteen winning photos chosen annually as featured calendar pages. After running consecutively as a photography contest until 2025, the credit union decided to shift focus in 2026 and use the calendar to spotlight local nonprofits whose work embodies the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”

The 2026 calendar features the following New York state based nonprofits:

Each month is dedicated to a different organization whose work spans from providing resources for children, addressing food insecurity, rescuing senior dogs, to grassroot efforts that provide services and support to families and those in need. The new calendar format is part of a larger, 2026 initiative aimed at promoting the spread of kindness in our communities and highlighting local organizations to increase public awareness about the services they provide.

“The Sunmark Spotlight Calendar is designed to honor the organizations improving lives in our communities,” said John Prividera, Chief Experience Officer at Sunmark Credit Union. “As a credit union, we exist to serve people, so it’s important that we shine a light on those who are serving alongside us to help share their stories.”

Calendars are free to the public and can be picked up at any Sunmark Credit Union financial center during the month of December, while supplies last.
