At Sunmark Credit Union, we believe strong communities are built by people and organizations who show up every day with compassion, commitment, and purpose. Since 2015, the Sunmark Charitable Community Foundation has been partnering with local nonprofits, small organizations, and grassroots initiatives who are creating meaningful change across the Capital and Hudson Valley Regions of New York State.
This spotlight series highlights local community organizations that are making a positive impact and helping our neighborhoods thrive. By sharing their stories, missions and accomplishments, we aim to raise awareness, inspire involvement, and encourage continued support for the work happening right where we live.
Special Olympics of New York
Sunmark is a proud supporter of Special Olympics, its athletes and its mission: To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-style sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.Hood's House of Hoops
A local organization based in Albany, New York, Hood's House of Hoops provides more than just a place to play. It offers a safe, positive, environment where young people can build confidence, develop discipline, and learn life skills that extend far beyond the court. Sunmark is a proud supporter of their mission to bring unity to our communities by investing in the next generation.
Sunmark Credit Union 2026 Calendar
With a new theme focused on highlighting nonprofits located in the Capital Region and Hudson Valley areas, the “Sunmark Spotlights” calendar features 12 of Sunmark’s nonprofit partners located within their 14-county charter area. Each month is dedicated to a different organization whose work spans from providing resources for children, addressing food insecurity, rescuing senior dogs, to grassroot efforts that provide services and support to families and those in need.
